Get Involved:There are a number of ways to get involved in REAL health care reform. First and foremost: Educate yourself on the issue. Second: Sign our online petition for Show Your Vote Campaign and get others to sign. Or get signatures on a hard copy of the petition at your church, workplace, or anywhere you wish. Third: Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper voicing your support for a publicly-financed universal health care system. Tell them your story, a neighbors story, and so on. It helps especially to have health professionals and business owners endorsing a universal health care system. Fourth: Call your legislator. We hear all the time from legislators who say they are not hearing form you. Call them or write them. If they feel they have the support to go out and push for comprehensive reform they will. Fifth: Please donate to Vermont Health Care for All. Donations to keep this education effort moving forward. Donations are tax deductible within the law. Sixth: Donate to the media campaign. Donations to a media campaign aimed at specific legislation are not tax deductible. You can use PayPal on this site or send checks payable to the Show Your Vote Campaign to our mailing address. Please, remember that opponents of health care reform have plenty of money to initiate scare tactics against legislators and ordinary Vermonters. Seventh: Hold a house party. This is a small gathering in your house. We will present an educational talk and discussion. Call your local legislator, business acquaintances, school board member, teachers, farmers, friends, and particularly people who tend to be the movers and shakers in your community are particularly suggested. Dont hesitate to invite people who are fence sitters on the issue. If they are willing to learn, we are willing to try to persuade them of the wisdom of reform. Contact us. |
